Code snippets should be placed in your Genesis child theme’s functions.php file.
Note:Its strictly recommended to backup your files before editing Genesis Theme.

Customize Read More link in Genesis Post Excerpt

Read more link gets displayed when you had activated Post Excerpts.Below is the code to modify the read more link when using the WordPress More Tag to break a post on your site:

/** Modify the WordPress read more link */
add_filter( 'the_content_more_link', 'custom_read_more_link' );
function custom_read_more_link() {
 return '<a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '" rel="nofollow">[Continue Reading]</a>';
}

Below is the code to modify the read more link when using the Content Limit on the Content Archives section on the Genesis Settings page:

/** Modify the Genesis content limit read more link */
add_filter( 'get_the_content_more_link', 'custom_read_more_link' );
function custom_read_more_link() {
return '... <a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '" rel="nofollow">[Continue Reading]</a>';
}

Modify Genesis Post Excerpt Content Length

By default Genesis Framework displays first 50 words of the post.If you want to change it, then below code helps you to modify the length of the post excerpts:

/** Change the length of post excerpts in Genesis */
add_filter( 'excerpt_length', 'custom_excerpt_length' );
function custom_excerpt_length($length) {
    return 60; // Displays first 60 words
}

By placing the above code, your post excerpts length will be 60 Words/excerpt.You can increase / decrease based upon your requirements.

That’s all I have for you today. I hope modifying your Genesis Child Theme as per the instructions above will give more professional look for your website .
